On the afternoon of August 13, 2024, the Center for Physical Education and Sports at Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), proudly hosted a friendly students’ volleyball match between VNU and National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) from Taiwan. This event was not just a simple sports match but also a special occasion for these two prestigious universities to strengthen their collaboration and mutual understanding.
National Chung Hsing University, one of Taiwan’s leading universities, sent a delegation to visit VNU and participate in this friendly match. The visit was part of NCHU’s international cooperation plan, aimed at promoting cultural and sports exchanges between students of the two nations. The delegation engaged in discussions that further solidified the friendship between the two institutions.
The teams met at 2:00 PM, and the match officially began at 3:00 PM. Both teams played with exemplary sportsmanship and gave their all. The match was filled with powerful serves and spectacular saves, creating an intense and thrilling game. Both sides demonstrated determination and resilience, delivering an exciting experience for the audience.
The match concluded in a thrilling and intense finale, with National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) narrowly securing a 3-2 victory. The sets were fiercely contested: VNU took the lead in the first set with a score of 25-21, but NCHU quickly equalized in the second set, winning 23-25. The third set saw VNU reclaiming their advantage with a 25-22 win, but NCHU fought back, taking the fourth set 20-25, pushing the match to a decisive final set. The fifth set was a nail-biter, with both teams battling for every point, and NCHU ultimately clinched the victory with a close 15-13 score.
