Friendly Football Match Between VNU Center for Physical Education and Sports and Vietnam Maritime University: Strengthening Bonds, Sharing Experiences, and Expanding Cooperation

On the afternoon of March 12, 2025, at the football field of Vietnam Maritime University (VMU), an exciting friendly football match took place between the Center for Physical Education and Sports (PESC) of Vietnam Maritime University and the Center for Physical Education and Sports (PESC) of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU). The event drew the attention of a large number of faculty members, staff, and students from both institutions. This match was organized to celebrate the 79th anniversary of Vietnam Sports Day (March 27, 1946 – March 27, 2025) and the 69th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam Maritime University (1956 – 2025).

A Meaningful Sporting Event Bringing Together Leaders and Staff

The friendly match was co-organized by the Vietnam Maritime University PESC and the VNU PESC. The event was honored by the presence of Director Đỗ Quân Tùng, Deputy Director Trần Văn Nhật, and other faculty members and staff from the Vietnam Maritime University PESC. On the visiting team from VNU, the event was attended by the Board of Directors of VNU PESC, including Director Nguyễn Việt Hòa, Deputy Director Nguyễn Ngọc Minh, and Deputy Director Trịnh Kiên, along with faculty members and the football team.

Beyond being a mere sports competition, the event provided an opportunity for both institutions to meet, exchange insights, and share experiences in university-level physical education instruction. Open discussions were held on curriculum development, sports activity organization models, and future strategies for advancing physical education.

50 Minutes of Intensity and Spectacular Goals

From the moment the referee blew the whistle, both teams entered the match with high determination. The two 25-minute halves featured exciting plays and numerous intense moments.

  • However, VNU PESC quickly took the lead 2-0, thanks to an impressive brace from player Tuấn Hoàn.
  • Towards the end of the first half, the home team VMU PESC narrowed the gap to 2-1 with a well-placed finish.
  • At the start of the second half, VMU PESC maintained their offensive pressure and equalized at 2-2.
  • Despite the home team’s strong effort, VNU PESC capitalized on counterattacks, scoring three consecutive goals, securing a 5-2 victory.

The match concluded with excitement, not only because of the impressive goals but also due to the sportsmanship and mutual respect between both teams.

Campus Tour and Experience Sharing Between the Two Centers

Alongside the football match, the VNU PESC delegation had an exchange and working session with the VMU PESC. The two sides toured the university’s sports training and teaching facilities, including the stadium, sports hall, multifunctional gym, swimming area, and other modern physical training equipment.

During the meeting, the leaders of both centers exchanged insights on advanced teaching methodologies, models for organizing extracurricular sports activities for students, and experiences in hosting sports tournaments and promoting physical fitness in higher education. The discussion not only allowed both institutions to gain deeper insights into each other’s operations but also paved the way for broader collaboration in the future.
