In implementing the “Green Summer” Volunteer Campaign of the VNU Youth Union in 2016, the Youth Union of the Physical Education and Sports Centre actively participated in the activities and excellently completed the assigned tasks.
To improve the health and fitness of officials and to promote sports activities at the Lạng Sơn Children’s Palace, the Centre’s Youth Union collaborated with the Youth Union of the University of Education to organize table tennis and basketball training courses for officials of the Children’s Palace, the Youth Centre, and the Lạng Sơn Provincial Youth Union from July 26 to July 31, 2016.
More than 20 trainees participated in the training course, which was divided into two parts. The table tennis training took place from July 26-28, and the basketball training continued from July 29-31. The table tennis trainees were guided by Coach and Lecturer Nguyễn Thị Thư.
Regarding the basketball training, this sport requires significant physical strength, endurance, agility, quickness, technique, skill, power, and resilience. Therefore, the trainees faced considerable challenges, practicing outdoors in sunny weather. However, with the enthusiasm of the lecturer and coach, the trainees persevered and diligently engaged in this relatively new sport. After the training sessions, the lecturer arranged for an exchange with the Lạng Sơn Basketball Club, allowing trainees to gain practical experience and participate in matches. The friendly match was intensely competitive, creating an exciting atmosphere for the trainees.
The training program concluded successfully on the afternoon of July 31, 2016, leaving a strong impression. These activities are expected to be of interest to the Children’s Palace in the future to diversify sports activities for children’s physical development in the province.
With the youthful energy of the Centre’s Youth Union officials, it is hoped that their dedication will introduce beneficial sports activities to local areas, enriching the community’s engagement with physical education.
